ASTON UNIVERSITY TO OFFER FULL SCHOLARSHIP TO WINNING UK STUDENTIn an exciting new development, Aston University and F1 in Schools have announced that a full scholarship to study Mechanical Engineering will be awarded to a winning student at the Lenovo F1 in Schools 2024 UK National Finals. Following a series of regional events which run from November 2023 to March 2024 to determine the top talent from across England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, these teams will go on to take part in the national stage of the competition. The event, which will be held at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham, will see over 500 students participating as they compete to be crowned the F1 in Schools 2024 UK National Champions, and a chance to secure the scholarship opportunity at Aston University. Tom Milner, UK Project Manager at F1 in Schools, comments, “It is absolutely fantastic to work with Aston University. They have been a long-time supporter of everything we do; becoming an F1 in Schools Centre of Excellence in 2021, sharing their knowledge, experience and equipment with local schools, and this new addition to our partnership provides our students with an incredible opportunity to pursue their passion for engineering on one of the highest ranked courses in the country. Reece Lillie, Head of Technical Services for Aston University’s College of Engineering & Physical Sciences added: “We are really excited to be furthering our relationship with F1 in Schools and strengthening the projects progression paths by offering a Mechanical Engineering Scholarship to support the future generation of STEM professionals.

MAGNA SCIENCE ADVENTURE CENTRE TO HOST LENOVO F1 IN SCHOOLS 2024 UK NATIONAL FINALSTeams taking part in the Lenovo F1 in Schools 2024 National Finals will be doing so in the fitting location of the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham. A famous former steelworks, now converted into an educational space with over 100 hands-on science and technology exhibits, the site will see over 500 students attend across March 12th – 14th as their teams compete to become the Lenovo F1 in Schools 2024 UK National Champions. The springtime event will see primary pupils compete on the first day, while secondary students will compete over the final two days, with teams assessed across a variety of areas - including car speed, engineering quality, brand identity and verbal presentation skills. The top-performing secondary teams will secure a place at the Aramco F1 in Schools World Finals; the global stage of the competition which is held annually alongside an international F1 Grand Prix. F1® IN SCHOOLS UK SET TO INSPIRE THE NEXT GENERATION AT AUTOSPORT 2024F1® in Schools UK will once again be exhibiting at Autosport 2024, providing visitors with the opportunity to explore the educational STEM challenge which teaches young people how to design, make, test, and race miniature F1 cars. The not-for-profit organisation will have an interactive space, with a 20-metre racetrack in operation throughout the event, enabling visitors to put their reaction times to the test as they race cars designed and made by students from across the globe. The F1 in Schools stand will also feature Trak Racer, the renowned gaming platform manufacturer, who will be displaying two Alpine Racing TRX driving simulators. Andrew Denford, chairman and founder of F1 in Schools, commented, “We’re delighted to once again be exhibiting at Autosport 2024. It’s a truly fantastic exhibition, and we know visitors will be delighted to experience the thrill of racing cars on the F1 in Schools track, before taking a turn on the Alpine Racing TRX and gaining an insight into the perspective of an F1 driver.
