MAGNA SCIENCE ADVENTURE CENTRE TO HOST LENOVO F1 IN SCHOOLS 2024 UK NATIONAL FINALS

Teams taking part in the Lenovo F1 in Schools 2024 National Finals will be doing so in the fitting location of the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham.

A famous former steelworks, now converted into an educational space with over 100 hands-on science and technology exhibits, the site will see over 500 students attend across March 12th – 14th as their teams compete to become the Lenovo F1 in Schools 2024 UK National Champions.

The springtime event will see primary pupils compete on the first day, while secondary students will compete over the final two days, with teams assessed across a variety of areas - including car speed, engineering quality, brand identity and verbal presentation skills. The top-performing secondary teams will secure a place at the Aramco F1 in Schools World Finals; the global stage of the competition which is held annually alongside an international F1 Grand Prix.

Tom Milner, UK Project Manager for F1 in Schools, comments: “The Magna Science Adventure Centre is the most fantastic space for us to host the F1 in Schools UK National Finals. With teams from across the nation coming together to showcase their STEM talent, we couldn’t ask for a better backdrop than a centre filled with such inspirational science and technology-based exhibits.”

Stuart Lee, Operations Director at Magna Science Adventure Centre, adds: “We are so excited to welcome F1 in Schools to the centre. It’s such a brilliant initiative to introduce STEM learning in a fun and engaging way, making it accessible and appealing to young people - which is something we’re also incredibly passionate about here at Magna.”
