Rookie Teams given the chance to reach the National Final

With the introduction of the National 14-19 Diploma, F1 in Schools is adjusting the judging of the competition to form new age categories.  At each regional event we will now take the winning team from the 11-14 and the 14-19 age groups to the National Final.  This gives us the opportunity to invite the best Rookie Team from each regional to enter the National Final. They will be eligable to compete alongside other teams in their age group and compete to become the UK National Champions.  A rookie team will consist of a new team, new school and new teacher.

This should not affect the way the competition is run in school and teams will still be classified within their key stage according to the oldest member of the team. There will still be age group winners at all regional finals.

Awards Categories

The awards which will be competed for at each regional final are:

The world of Formula One has many facets in its make up. From high performance engineering to the exceptional driving skills seen on the circuits.  From the intensity of the engineering workshop to the high life and glamour of Monaco, Shanghai and Monza.  But throughout all this variety one thing remains constant – the extreme level of professionalism and attention to detail in each and every part of the business.  Formula One is seen throughout the world as one of the most dynamic industries around and never ceases to impress the masses of both individuals and high level corporate partners involved.  Team Identity plays a major role in the structure of the sport and we at F1 in Schools are keen to take this level of detail into our project.  This award will go to the team that exhibits over final:

In summary – the team that has taken the challenge to its limits and that has made a lasting impression.
