St Bedes School wins five awards in Newcastle

St Bede’s
The aspiring F1 engineers, created a miniature Formula One car, which they raced along a 20 metre track against competitors from across the region. The St Bede’s Babes team won the 14-19 Age Group category, the award for the Best Engineered Car and the Overall Winners title at the event. The team for the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge consisted of Hayley Clarke, Megan Crombie, Caitlan Quinney and Yasmin Tomlinson.
Their sister team, Team Carbon took home the Best Sponsorship and Marketing award, whilst also winning the race to have the fastest car of the day. A time of 1.157 seconds secured the team victory in the race to be fastest D-type team. Team Carbon consisted of Luke Stephenson, Adam Brown, Richard Dring, Hannah Fahey and Hayley Honnor.
Also winning trough to the National Finals are Leoneons F1 from St Leonards School in Northend, after securing victory in the 11-14 Age Group category, the team for the event consisted of, Aidan Hodgson, Grant Cook, Adele Eliot, Jack Mullaney, Ciaran Parkin, and Sophie Yorston.
