F1 fever hits 'Pressure Point' in Birmingham

The efforts of the Pressure Point team from
The aspiring F1 engineers, created a miniature Formula One car, which they raced along a 20 metre track against competitors from across the region. The team also won the race to be fastest car of the day, by securing the quickest time in the D-Type category with a time of 1.224 seconds. The Pressure Point team for the F1 in Schools Technology Challenge consisted of Martyn Bulbrook, Digby Chapell, Kieran Oldroyd and Lewis Sindle.
Martyn Bulbrook the Team Manager for Pressure Point commented after their win, “It feels great to have won here today, I think our high level of team work has set us apart from everyone else. Now we are through to the National Finals, we think we will work on our pit display to make it jazzier, but apart from that we say bring it on! We are ready for the next step of the competition.”
The sister team from Neale-Wade, Team Inferno won the Innovative Thinking Award at the event, after impressing the judges with development of a wind tunnel for their car. The Inferno Team consisted of, Clinton Elkin, Daniel Holder and James Huggins.
