Lutterworth College, Neale Wade Community College and North Leamington School win through to Nationals

A team of students from Lutterworth College, calling themselves 'Adactus', celebrated winning two awards in the Central England Regional Finals, taking the Central Region title in the Formula 1 class and winning Best Engineered Car Award.

Adactus will be joined at the National Finals by the winning Bloodhound Class team, Team Revolution from Neale Wade Community College, March, Cambridgeshire, who were also won the Fastest Bloodhound Class Car award, having raced along the track in 0.673 seconds. The Best Rookie Team, Whittle Wonders, will also compete for the UK National Title, with this team collecting the most awards of all the teams in the Central Regional Final, taking the Innovative Thinking Award and the Fastest Formula 1 Class car, with a time of 1.167 seconds.

Other winners at the Central regional final were Infamous from Selly Park Technology College, Birmingham who won the Best Team Identity Award, Sonic Boom from Landau Forte College, Derby who collected the Best Sponsorship and Marketing Award, and Phoenix from Toothill School, Bingham who were presented with the Perseverance in adversity Award.
