On the same weekend as the British Grand Prix, Loughborough University took part in Formula Student.

Steve Walker (a former F1 in Schools graduate) and his fellow team mates competed with an excellent design which was ranked in the top 10 of UK Universities entered.

The reason we are interested in their achievements is not only because Steve is involved in the team but also due to the fact that Loughborough University will be hosting one of our up and coming events in the autumn. A number of their students will also play a key part in helping to run our F1 in Schools Central England regional final, where their Formula Student car will be on display.

Loughborough's Formula student team will help by giving tours of their Automotive and Aeronautical Engineering department where the students will have the opportunity to view their extensive range of engineering and computing laboratories, and experimental facilities. The team will also have a hand in judging at the F1 in Schools event and seem more than qualified as they have just been through a similar process with their single seating racing car.

If any other Universities or Formula Student teams are interested in helping us then please contactus@f1inschools.co.uk
