Evolution F1, a team of students from Robert May’s School, Odiham, Hampshire, jumped onto the top step of the podium at last week’s F1 in Schools™ UK National Finals, taking the National Champions crown and with it the chance to represent the UK at the F1 in Schools World Finals 2015 in Singapore.
The team were the well-deserved winners with judges praising the high standards of work and the excellence of the engineering employed to create the team’s scale-model minature Formula 1 car. The team won the Best Engineered Car Award before capping this achievement with the ultimate prize, overall victory. The team were presented with the impressive National Champions Trophy by Naomi Mitchison, Institution of Engineering and Technology Young Engineer of the Year, and won tickets to the FIA 2015 FORMULA 1 BRITISH GRAND PRIX courtesy of Silverstone Circuit.
