Symscape Quantum Racing, a team of six students from The Crypt School, Gloucester won the Sponsorship and Marketing Award supported by WNT at the 2014 F1 in Schools UK National Finals
Jack Mclaren, 17, Team Leader; Alice Paddock, 16, Media Liaison Manager; Cameron Fern, 18, Resources Manager; Jacob Lange, 18, Marketing Manager; Giuseppe Li, 18, Manufacturing Engineer and Matthew Skelding, 18, Design Engineer competed against the best teams in the UK. The judges were impressed with the team’s focus on sponsorship benefits and a sponsor business exchange event held to offer networking opportunities for the sponsors.
Jack said after the awards presentation, “We feel pretty happy after winning this award, particularly after the disappointment of yesterday when the car wasn't anywhere nearly as fast as we thought it would be, so it was a nice surprise to get an award today. The level of sponsorship we achieved, the way we helped sponsors interact with other sponsors and finding a title sponsor were all the reasons we won this and we'd like to thank them, as without them we wouldn't have won this.”
