Registering Your Team
- From the F1 in Schools homepage, click ‘Team Registration’ under the main F1 Logo in the top left-hand corner.
- Fill in the blank boxes with your relevant team information-
- Enter your team name.
- Enter an active email address which you can access easily, as important information will be sent here.
- Confirm the address by re-typing it
- Enter the name of the school which you team attends.
- In address lines 1 and 2, enter your SCHOOL address, followed by the city and county in which your school is situated.
- Using the drop-down menu, select the country in which you will compete.
- Using the drop-down menu, select the type of car you will be racing.
- Again using the drop-down menu, select the Regional Final you wish to attend.
- The login details will be used by you to create a login/logout account to edit your team profile. Enter a username which you will use to login- remember usernames can only consist of lowercase a-z characters, 0-9 digits and the underscore (_) symbol with no spaces. Eg, race_car.
- Type a password to complete your login details –keep this private and make sure nobody else knows this. Try to make your password easy for you to remember. Re-type your password underneath to confirm it is correct.
- For the security check type both the words you see printed, separated by a space. If you cannot read the words, select ‘try different words’ for new words to appear and follow as above. Optionally, you can try an audio recording by clicking the hyperlink (remember to speak clearly).
- Before finalising your registration, you must read and agree with the terms and conditions. Click on the link to go to the terms and conditions page, before ticking the box to confirm you agree with these terms.
- It is advised to check the information you have supplied is correct, and to make sure you know important information such as your login and password.
- Click ‘Register Now!’ to complete your team registration.
- Don’t forget, the boxes with * beside them must be completed.
Congratulations, you have registered your team!
Now you have registered, you can edit your team profile.
To change any of the information you submitted in the registration process, click ‘Edit Team Details’.
Team Member Details
- In your team homepage, the ‘Team Members’ section is where you submit information about each team member. Click ‘Register Team Member’ and enter your team member’s forename in the first box. Type his/her surname in the second box.
- Enter your team member’s date of birth, using the format DD/MM/YYYY, e.g. 17/06/1992
- Select the gender of your team member from the options.
- If this member is the team manager, select the ‘Manager’ box. Only one Team Manager may be allocated per team. Type the responsibility of the team member in the following box – for example, Manufacturing Engineer, Graphics Designer.
- Enter an email address which this team member can be contacted by.
- Optionally, team member contact telephone and mobile numbers can also be submitted.
- To save these team member details, select the confirm button. Clicking cancel will not save these changes. This will bring you back to the ‘Team Members’ page. A minimum of three team members and a maximum if six must be on the team in order to compete.
- To edit team member details, select the pen and notepad icon. To delete a team member, click the red icon with a white cross to erase their details.
- To add more team members, select ‘Register Team Member’ and repeat the process.
- Select ‘Account Home’ above the main ‘Team Members’ heading to return to your team account homepage.
Team Teacher Details
- In your team homepage, the ‘Team Teachers’ section is where you submit information about each team teacher. Click ‘Register Team Teacher’ and enter your team teacher’s forename in the first box. Type his/her surname in the second box.
- Enter the position of your teacher within the team.
- Type an email address which the team teacher can be contacted by.
- Optionally, team teacher’s contact telephone and mobile numbers can also be submitted.
- To save these team teacher details, select the confirm button. Clicking cancel will not save these changes. This will bring you back to the ‘Team Teachers’ page.
- To edit team teacher details, select the pen and notepad icon. To delete a team teacher, click the red icon with a white cross to erase their details.
- To add more team teachers, select ‘Register Team Member’ and repeat the process.
- Select ‘Account Home’ above the main ‘Team Teachers’ heading to return to your team account homepage.
Team Images
- In your team homepage, the ‘Team Images’ section is where you may add, edit and delete images associated with your team – such as your logo, photos of your car, and photos of team members.
- To upload a team photo, select ‘Upload New Image’, under the ‘Team Images’ heading.
- To choose an image to upload, select ‘browse’ tosearch you files. Click on your chosen image and select OK. The name of your photo should appear in the ‘image’ box. Note: jpg, gif or png image file types only.
- Underneath, enter a caption for your photo in the ‘caption’ box.
- The ‘Sort Order’ selection allows us to display your photos in order of importance. Type 1 in the ‘Sort Order’ box if this image is the most important to you, or type 2 if it is of second importance and so on. The numbers of importance in the ‘Sort Order’ box is the order your photos will appear.
- To save your uploaded photos, select the confirm button. Clicking cancel will not save these changes. This will bring you back to the ‘Team Images’ page.
- To add more team images, select ‘Upload New Image’ and repeat the process.
- Select ‘Account Home’ above the main ‘Team Images’ heading to return to your team account homepage.
Logging In and Out
- After you have registered, to login anytime you visit the F1 in Schools site, fill in your login details (username and password)and select ‘Go’ to access your account homepage. The login boxes are central at the top of the page, underneath the F1 racing car image.
- In your team homepage, the ‘Logout’ selection allows you to logout. Once you have selected to logout, you will not be able to access your team account homepage until you next login.
- To confirm you have logged out, a ‘Thank You’ message will appear on your screen.
By completing the following Team Registration you are agreeing that you intend to enter a team into the 2008 Championship season. Once you have completed the registration process a copy of this challenge agreement will be emailed to the primary teacher contact. This will need to be signed and returned to F1 in Schools before registration closes on 17th October 2008.
